In 1933, Rudy Muck was first to develop the "Cushion Rim" system in mouthpiece design by adding a much larger rim surface to the mouthpiece to allow the pressure to be spread over a greater area thus reducing fatigue and discomfort. Muck mouthpieces are renowned for their resonance, response and ability to bring out the full range of tone from treble to bass.
