At Our Rusty Barn, we offer something you will not find at many other shops: the ability to name your own price using our Make an Offer tool. Using the Make an Offer tool can be a great way to buy the item you've been looking for at a bargain price.
The Make an Offer tool lets you suggest a price you're willing to pay for the item. We can then accept, reject, or counter your offer by proposing another price. In some cases, your offer may be automatically accepted.
How To Make an Offer
- If an item is available to name your price, you will see the "Make An Offer" button.
- If you are not logged in, you will be asked to log in or create an account with us.
- Enter your offer amount. If there are more than one of the item available, you can make an offer for one or all. Your offer will not include shipping costs.
- If you like, you can add a message to us.
- When you are ready, submit your offer.
- We will provide an immediate response on the next page.
What Happens Next?
Some items may have a minimum accepted amount. If your item does, your offer may be automatically accepted. Your item will be then added to your shopping cart. You can continue shopping or proceed to the checkout page. If your offer is below our minimum accepted price or unrealistic it may be automatically rejected.
For other valid offers, we will review your offer and get back to you with a response, usually withing 24 hours so watch your email. Our response will be one of:
- Offer Accepted: You can then visit our site and the item will be in your shopping cart.
- A Counter Offer: We will suggest another price. You can then choose to accept, reject or continue to negotiate the price by submitting your own counter offer.
- Offer Rejected: You can still make another offer.
Accepted offers and counter offers are will automatically expire after 2 days.
Tips for making offers
When you’ve got your eye on something and have a certain price in mind, you can increase your chances of us accepting your offer. Here are a couple of tips:
- Be reasonable: We can be fairly flexible with some of our prices and generally take fair offers seriously.
- Add a message: A friendly, personal message could help you get the item at the price you want.
- Be ready to negotiate: While we can be flexible on pricing, we are a business and do need to consider our costs. If you are genuinely interested in an item, we will work with you to establish a fair and equitable arrangement.
Tracking Your Offers
Once your offer has been submitted, you can track the status of your offer on your "My Offers" page. When logged in, this page is accessible through your account page or through in the Shopping Tools section if you are using a phone or tablet.
