Hummel figurines were created by German artist Berta Hummel in the early 1930s. She created them as characters from Catholic children's stories and Gospel tales. Hummel began painting the figurines in 1931 and soon caught the eye of Goebel pottery in Germany.
Studio Hummel uses Berta Hummel's original design molds to faithfully replicate each figurine through porcelain figurine production techniques like overglaze enamel painting. By the 1950s, Hummels had become one of the most popular collectibles in America. Their charm appealed to people of all faiths and they were considered appropriate decor for many homes.
Studio Hummel's Berta Hummel Christmas Collection #96036 Set #6 includes: "Walking Thru the Snow", "A Gift for Snowman" and "Wreath of Joy". Each figurine stands 3" tall and comes with it's own Certificate of Authenticity. This set is in excellent condition in the original box.
