1940s Bourjois New York Collectible Compact Mirrored Folding Case

This collectible compact is a lovely piece of vintage history from the 1940s. This truly compact compact is only 2½” inch square and is gold tone metal decorated with a tooled Art Deco quilted geometric design on top. The inside of the compact has a mirror and a flip out lid to cover the face powder. The back is engraved with the companies name - Bourjois New York Distributor and vertical cuts to improve grip. This compact makes a unique gift for lovers of vintage accessories, beauty history buffs, or anyone who appreciates exquisite design from fashion's golden era.

The outer metal finish has aged wear, patina and scratches. The face powder is gone but the original applicator pad is inside and is in great shape. The mirror inside has fogging.
